“Silly”

I’d like to find that someone
I can be silly with
He’d love my quirky side
And we’d make stupid dance moves wearing onesies

We’d pull faces in photographs
Climb trees and pretend we’re wizards
We would make each other laugh
So much, and sometimes a bit too loud

We’d stay in bed when it rains
Watch bad films just for fun
Cuddle, sing and drink hot chocolate
Feel like nothing could break us

He’d call when he said he would
We’d be there for each other
Stay up late, thinking of ways to change the world
And he’d get on with my father

We wouldn’t lie, we wouldn’t cheat
Sure, that may be too optimistic
But I wish for the best
And won’t settle for anything less

I’d like to find that someone
I can be silly with
I don’t know where he’s hiding
But in time I’ll find him.
